"We need a strategic plan for California. We can let the future happen to us or we can plan our future."

Next-Ten Event Summary

Weighing in on the State Budget, continued

As its name suggests, Next Ten isn't looking for the quick fix, but rather the development of a long-term vision and a ten-year budget plan to match that vision.

Next Ten asks Californians to answer these questions:

  • What kind of a California do we want to see in ten years?
  • What kind of budget plan do we need to get us there?
  • What tradeoffs are we willing to make to achieve our long-term vision?
Next Ten lead partners are the California Center for Regional Leadership, www.calregions.org, and Center for Continuing Study of the California Economy, www.ccsce.com.

Initial Next Ten partners include the following:
  • Bay Area Alliance for Sustainable Communities
  • Center for Governmental Studies
  • Commonwealth Club of California
  • Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley
  • Great Valley Center
  • Local Government Commission
  • Orange County Business Council
  • San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation
  • South Bay Economic Development Partnership
